The Bees Never Stop Buzzing: No Summer Vacation at Sandy Springs PAC
Go ahead, fire up the grill, pack the cooler, and shake out that picnic blanket. Summer in Sandy Springs is glorious, and you've earned every single moment of it. But while you're soaking it all in, there's a hive on Galambos Way that never, ever stops buzzing.
Welcome to the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center — where summer vacation is something that happens for the community, not to the team that makes it possible.
We're the Bees Behind Your Summer
Most people don't know that the PAC is the producing force behind nearly every major free outdoor event in Sandy Springs from May through October. That's not a complaint. Honestly, it's our favorite secret. But this month, we're pulling back the curtain a little, because the sheer scale of what this team builds for this community deserves a moment in the spotlight.
So, let's walk through the hive and see what our Signature Events Department, led by Anna Nikolas with the support of all of our PAC teams, is all abuzz about!
City Green Live
The City Green, with its sweeping lawn and capacity for 3,000 of your closest friends and neighbors — doesn't program itself. Our team curates, contracts, and produces the City Green Live concert series, bringing live music to Sandy Springs all summer long, completely free of charge. From booking the right artists to coordinating sound, lighting, staging, and logistics, every show that looks effortless took weeks of buzzing behind the scenes to build.
Stars and Stripes: Our Biggest Day of the Year
If you've ever stood on City Green on the Fourth of July, surrounded by your neighbors, music filling the air before the fireworks light up the sky, you already know that Stars and Stripes is something special. What you might not know is that producing a patriotic celebration of that scale, the concerts, the programming, the logistics for thousands of attendees, is one of the most complex undertakings our team takes on all year, AND we wouldn't have it any other way.
Concerts by the Springs
Not every great summer evening needs a massive stage. Concerts by the Springs brings a more intimate, neighborhood feel to live music in Sandy Springs with the kind of show where you run into friends, let the kids dance in the grass, and remember why you love living here. Our team produces every note of it.
Farmers Market & Sundown Social: The Weekly Heartbeat
Here's where the bees really earn their stripes. Week in and week out, all summer long — our team is behind the Sandy Springs Farmers Market and the Sundown Social events. These aren't one-off productions; they are a sustained, weekly commitment to giving this community a reason to gather, connect, and celebrate the season together. Logistics alone would make most teams reach for the sunscreen and a beach chair. Our team reaches for the production schedule.
The Buzz Doesn't Stop When Summer Does
Think we slow down when the calendar turns? Think again. As the leaves begin to change, the hive shifts gears but the energy never dims. Our fall season brings two signature events that have become beloved traditions of their own:
Blue Stone Arts & Music Festival celebrates the creativity and cultural life of this community with art, music, and performance all in one place. And OktoberFeast brings the fun, the flavor, and the festivity of fall to City Green in a way that keeps the good times rolling well past Labor Day.
From the first warm weekend of May to the last golden afternoon of October, the PAC team is producing, planning, and building the free experiences that make Sandy Springs a place people are proud to call home.
Come Enjoy the Honey
We share all of this not to take a bow, but to say thank you — and to invite you to lean in. Every concert you attend, every market morning you enjoy, every Fourth of July moment you share with your family — that's why this hive keeps buzzing.
So come to City Green and Heritage Amphitheatre. Bring your blanket. Bring your neighbors. Bring the kids.
We'll have everything ready for you.
We're bees. It's what we do.
