Author Dav Pilkey now fills auditoriums with screaming fans that are avid readers of the Captain Underpants and Dog Man series, and has sold more than 100 million copies. But these beloved comics (and the Netflix series, and the major motion picture, and the off-Broadway musical!) started with being exiled to the hallway of his elementary school when Dav was in second grade.
Dav spoke with Today's Jenna Bush Hager on the set of Dog Man: The Musical about the learning disabilities that launched Captain Underpants and Dog Man, along with the incredible support of his parents.
