Given our unusual weather, you might not have noticed it yet, unless you have been up in the wee hours of the morning to catch that first slight chill in the air, but fall has arrived in Sandy Springs.

The days may still feel more like summer, but the calendar is moving quickly. Autumn plans are taking shape, and local stores have already transformed into sparkling displays of trees, ornaments, and holiday cheer.

Yes! Christmas merchandise. Already!

At first, it can feel a little early. Then again, fall has always had a certain magic about it: gathering with friends, seasonal traditions, and the joyful feeling that something special is just around the corner.

Before we turn the calendar fully toward the holidays, we have a wonderful reason to celebrate the season right here in the City Springs district.

Raise a Stein at OktoberFEAST

On October 17–18, City Green will come alive for OktoberFEAST, Sandy Springs’ festive Bavarian-inspired celebration of food, music, community, and fall fun.

From 3–7 p.m. each day, neighbors and visitors can enjoy live music from the Swinging Bavarians, polka fun, Bavarian-inspired food available for purchase, specialty beers for guests 21 and older, and family-friendly activities, including the Ice Cream Parade. Admission is free, so it’s the perfect opportunity to gather your favorite people, make an afternoon of it, and enjoy the season together.

Whether you are a seasoned polka enthusiast or simply someone who appreciates a warm pretzel and a good community celebration, OktoberFEAST is a joyful reminder of what makes fall in Sandy Springs so special.

And, Since the Stores Have Spoken…

If the holiday displays have already put visions of December in your head, we may as well embrace the momentum.

On Saturday, November 21, Byers Theatre welcomes A Magical Cirque Christmas at 8:00 p.m. This dazzling holiday experience brings together world-class performers, gravity-defying acrobatics, comedy, strength, agility, and heartwarming magic—all set to a lively soundtrack of modern holiday favorites.

It is the kind of evening that reminds us why the arts are such an essential part of the season: they invite us to pause, marvel, laugh, and share something unforgettable with the people we love.

So yes, the holiday merchandise may have arrived a little early. But perhaps it is simply a cheerful nudge that the most magical time of year is on its way.

First, we feast. Then, we fly into the holidays with a little cirque magic.
